New Year has started and if your resolution is to eat healthier, you can begin slowly replacing the unhealthy foods with the healthy ones. Start taking novelettes rather than bagels; however, it is quite difficult since most of us can’t resist bagel. Your stomach is used to all these yummy sugar and carb filled stuff. How can you suppress these craving, and faster? A juice cleanse is the solution.
I decided to share a 3 day DIY juice cleanse few months back and I was surprised to see how much I loved it. As I dug more into it, I became familiar to the fact that juice cleanses are just ideal for travelers. Why? A traveler’s routine continuously remains disrupted, so it’s way more difficult for traveler to maintain a healthy food eating pattern. Even if someone is eating healthy at home base, he or she might get off to Europe for a couple of weeks and return completely unhinged. In addition, most travelers run short of time. They can’t afford fancy cleanses available in embellished bottles. What to do? Homemade juices cleanse!
By juicing, your organs are really going to have a break from cleansing out all the dirty stuff you have been eating previously. You also retrain your stomach to like healthy stuff. The idea is that you take six juices a day, with as much as green tea and water as you want. It might sound like living hell, but trust me it is not.
The 3 Day DIY Juice Cleanse Recipes
Start early morning the very first day and take one juice within every few hours. You need to take juices in the following order:
1. Green juice
2. P.A.M
3. Green juice
4. Spicy Lemonade
5. C.A.R.
6. Vanilla cashew milk
The approximate schedule seems like this:
1. 8 am – Green juice
2. 10 am – P.A.M.
3. 12 pm – Green juice
4. 3 pm – spicy lemonade
5. 5 pm – C.A.R.
6. 7 pm – vanilla cashew milk
Following are the recipes for 3 day DIY juice cleanse. Just blend together the ingredients in a blender or processor to make juice. If you dint have juicer or blender, mash together all the ingredients and then filter to separate pulp from the juice.
1. Green Juice
It is healthy and your body gets recharged with each sip. Addition of lemon and apples actually enhance the delicious taste.
Ingredients:
· Celery: 6 stalks
· Cucumber: 1
· Kale leaves: 3-4
· Green apples: 2 large
· Romaine leaves: 3-4
· Parsley: 4 tbsp
· Lemon: 1
2. P.A.M.
This is made up pine apple, apple and mint, and that’s why, it is called PAM. It is just delicious and highly refreshing.
Ingredients:
· Pineapple: 1/3
· Green apples: 2 large
· Mint: few pinches
3. Spicy Lemonade
This is especially ideal for dieters who want to cleanse out their body along with losing weight. In addition, it is also good for changing the taste of your tongue for a while.
Ingredients:
· Water: 16 oz
· Lemon juice: 3-4 medium lemons
· Cayenne: few dashes
· Honey/agave: 1 tbsp
4. C.A.R.
It is the acronym for apple, carrot, beet, lemon and ginger. It is one of the healthiest juice cleanses I have ever experienced.
Ingredients:
· Green apples: 2 large
· Beets: 2
· Carrots: 3 large
· Ginger: 1.5 tbsp
· Lemon: 1
5. Vanilla Cashew Milk
This gives real creaminess and sweetness along with refreshing and healthy cleanse. I would be sharing the recipe here since it’s bit different from the previous juice cleanses I have shared.
Ingredients:
· Agave syrup: 2 tbsp
· Cashew nuts: 145 g
· Vanilla bean : 1
· Water: 1.5 liters
Directions:
Soak cashew nuts in 240 ml water for 2-12 hours. Then drain and pop swollen nuts into juicer, along with 1.5 liter water. Cut the end of vanilla bean and scrape out paste. Place cashew milk, agave syrup and vanilla bean paste in blender and make a creamy smoothie. It makes about 500 ml milk that is perfect for 3 days cleanse.
Things to Remember
· Drink as much water as you can the entire day
· No alcohol and coffee
· Just green tea
· Regular Workout
· Start avoiding unhealthy food a week earlier the cleanse.
